So this is it, the start of many posts to come.
If you've already read my bio, you'll know that I have toyed with the idea of starting an online blog for a few years now.
I always chickened out or lacked motivation (which is a common problem for me) but now ... I have a lot more time on my hands, and I feel in a place where I need to start sharing more.
So let's start with a bit about myself..
Hi, I'm Natasha, currently 25 and was pretty much born and raised in Chatteris. A small market town in fenland, Cambridgeshire (UK).
For 25 years of my life, Chatteris, The UK, was home. Until my husband and I made the big decision to move our 2 children to the UAE.
Oh yeah, I need to tell you about my family!!
So I met Adam around 6 years ago, I wont go into the boring details as he'll only claim that I forced myself upon him once he reads this anyway.
We, of course, fell in love and had two beautiful baby boys. Alfie is 4 & Jackson shall turn 2 in May.
You may call us unconventional but we chose babies before marriage and for us, it worked. We got hitched in early March this year at a beautiful scene in Cambridge itself and other than the birth of my boys, hands down the best day of my life (and hopefully the husbands).
Before children, Adam always told me of his dream to teach abroad (oh, yeah, he's a teacher by the way). He always spoke of the UAE (tax free, wink wink). However, at the time, we soon forgot about these dreams when we decided we wanted babies.
Back in October of last year, whilst renting a cute 3 bedroom house, we were given an eviction notice (no, we were not terrible tenants, our landlord wanted to sell the property) - so, unwillingly, we had to leave a place that we finally called home.
We moved in with my dad, who luckily had the room for all 4 of us, and called his place home until we found elsewhere to go.
Late January this year, we were pissed off that renting wasn't going our way and for many reasons we were not in a position to purchase a house. So, on a whim, Adam started to re-kindle his search for work abroad. He made his applications.
Within a week or two, he received an e-mail asking if he could interview over Skype the following day for an International Private school in the UAE.
'What harm will it do'
Adam had the interview one morning and by 11am, he was calling me at work to say that he'd been offered a job there and then.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement.
After much talking, online research about the area and general workings out we decided that we could not say no to this opportunity and Adam accepted the job.
Flash forward a few months later, and here we are. About to finish almost a 4 month stint in the desert, ready
to holiday in the UK for Christmas.
Again, if you've read my bio, you'll already know about my current mental health state. To say that this move has been hard would be understatement.
It has, quite honestly, been the hardest most pressing time of my life. I have had days where I have battled the thoughts or whether to spend my money on a flight home or just take a flight out of the window but I am here, I am staying strong and that is why I am writing this blog.
We will delve deeper into the aspects of my life and my mental health problems but for now I will leave you with this.
(The, supposed to be, short introduction of me)
